About Springbrook National Park Discovery Full-Day Bushwalking Tour

Book Direct with the Owner at Springbrook National Park Discovery Full-Day Bushwalking Tour with Accommodation Broken Hill in Brisbane, for all your Attraction and travel needs.

Start your day early at your Brisbane meeting point, then travel by minivan about one hour south, passing through the Numinbah Valley to reach Natural Bridge, your first stop in Springbrook National Park.

Take in the naturally formed arch rock and the Cave Creek waterfall that plunges into a pool near Natural Bridge. Keep an eye out for Australian water dragons (a lizard), Australian brush-turkeys, goannas and pademelons (similar to wallabies) in this area.

Next up, follow your guide on a 2.5-mile (4-km) Twin Falls Circuit walk, passing stunning waterfalls and lush stretches of sub-tropical temperate rainforest, venturing a little further than many visitors go to reach spectacular viewpoints.

Enjoy a delicious lunch while overlooking the region’s largest waterfall, Purlingbrook Falls. Then walk through an Antarctic beech forest with 2000-year-old trees, one of the few remaining links to the ancient forests of Gondwana, which grew some 510 to 180 million years ago. From a viewpoint that looks over northern New South Wales, your guide points out sights such as Mt Warning, a remnant of the Tweed Shield volcano.

During your time in Springbrook National Park, you’ll have the chance to take a dip in the fresh cool water of one of the many natural pools. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife sightings, with wallabies and a variety of birds regularly seen, and rare sightings of animals such as platypus, spotted quoll and wombats.

Your informative guide shares commentary about the rainforest, wildlife and plants throughout the park, which shelters more than 500 vertebrate animals and 1,700 species of flowering plants. Your tour ends with return to the original departure point.

Please note: Walks are suitable to people with a moderate level of fitness. Some sections include stairs, uneven ground or creek crossings over wet rocks. It is advised to take a raincoat in all seasons. While every attempt is made to visit everything on the itinerary, inclusions are subject to change without notice.

Unfortunately the tour was canceled but we were not notified. After making the trip specifically to brisbane for this trip, we arrived at the meeting point on the day to be told that due to insufficient number of attendants the tour was cancelled and we were out instead on a snorkelling tour (without our knowledge). As we had not been notified we had not packed any swimwear and could not join. I understand that tours do need to be cancelled sometimes at the last minute, but to be told on the morning of departure at the meeting point is unacceptable. We had booked flights and accomodation specifically close by to make this tour, and are beyond disappointed

According to TripAdvisor, the company that we booked the excursion with was Bushwackers Rcotours the company we toured with was called Suncoast Excursions. The excursion that we booked had pictures of animals and stated we would see glowworms. We did not see any glow worms because they do not exist this time of the year. Who would have thought that glow worms were seasonal creatures. We did see a couple of bats that were very far away at the same site. The bats that we saw were not very exciting. We live in the Sacramento area. Thousands of bats live under the road between Sacramento and Davis. At dusk all of the bats fly out of their nest to look for food and they all follow a single flight path out from under the road, now that is exciting. Due to the rain, there were no wildlife out. We saw 1 turkey, a flock of cockatoos and a tiny bird. Others in the bus saw a couple of kangaroos. David our tour guide and driver was excellent. He had a lot of knowledge about the areas we were driving through, the few animals that we saw and the tree and plants. Our schedule was very relaxed, after the hike around Twin Fall he wanted to know if we wanted to do another hike around the dam. It was about 3 pm and we all decided we just wanted to go back to Brisbane which was 2 hours away. I was feeling creepy because one person in the group found a leech on her and I wanted to get out of my wet clothes and into a shower. I did find one on my shoe and hoped that there wasn't any more. According to the website, we would be in a mini van. The vehicle that we rode in was a 4 wheel drive vehicle that was old and had a lot of wear and tear. The air conditioner and heater did not work. The good thing was it wasn't hot so the air conditioning was not needed. The bad thing was the windows kept fogging up so mu husband who sat in the front seat and David had to wipe the windows so that David could see. David picked us up and there was a light rain and the wipers on the windshield was not working. We did make a stop in a little town about an hour outside of Brisbane to fix the wipers. It was a good thing that he fixed them because the rain did get heavier later that day. The hikes around the park was spectacular. David dropped us off at to start our hike around Twin Falls and he would pick us up at Outlook Over point. According to David, the hike was about 50 minutes but it took 1 1/2 hours. It was a little over 3 mile walk with an elevation change of 1,000 feet. It was not strenuous but one had to be careful because of the wet slippery rocks. A cold sandwich was provided with apples and store bought cookies. I glad that we got to go to Springbrook to hike in the forest and see the waterfalls but I would look for another company that had a more comfortable vehicle.

The tour guide was next door to useless, more interested in casing pies. Had no idea where he was going and would not let us do the walk

This was a beautiful trip with a very sweet guide. We had rain and mist the whole time but that made it magical.

We really enjoyed our day bush walking - seeing many waterfalls, the natural bridge and many other things. Livio was an excellent guide.

Lunch was not so great - had we known what was going to be provided we would have brought our own food. Plus the pick up was a unclear.

Nothing fancy about it, but the tour was amazing! Guide Clayton grew up in the area and was very knowledgeable. They had just had rain the day before, so there were lots of waterfalls.

Beautiful trip to the National Park. It did take an hour and half to get to the National Park on the bus. The ride was definitely worth it....the views are wonderful, the hike to the waterfalls is worth the effort. We saw lots of wildlife.....even a 6 foot long python! Out tour guide was quite knowledgeable and enjoyable.
